EMPLOYMENT

LCSS offers  a comprehensive supported employment service that supports people with developmental disabilities find and succeed in paid employment, internships and/or work experience in their community. Supported employment planning begins with a person’s interests, goals and skills. Supports are designed individually and start with connecting to local employment agencies, pre employment preparation, job search assistance, resume/ cover letter writing, interview preparation etc. 

 

Once an individual has secured a position a LCSS instructor can step into the role of job coach. Job coaching supports will be customized to meet the individual and employer needs. This process often begin with on the job training, and eventually as the person becomes more confident in their position, the on site supports will be faded out. When an individual is independent at their job, LCSS job coach can remain in contact to ensure a positive long term relationship for both the employee and the employer.
